Película familiar / Home movie
ca. 1933-1939 - 16mm, B&W, silent, 8:25 min.
This is an absolutely personal film, with the particular charm that comes from the intimate domestic nature of its images: it includes a series of shots of Val del Omar's wife, Luisa Santos, and of the filmmaker himself coming out from behind the camera to embrace her in a ''screen kiss'' as passionate as it is beautiful, as well as shots of the couple's two daughters: María José and Ana Zaida.
What is particularly interesting about this film is the inversely chronology of the editing of the shots; while the girls are more or less grown-up at the beginning, they are babies in the last frame of this succinct family album filmed over a number of years – before, during and after the Spanish Civil War – in Granada, Valencia and Madrid.
